Ibérico 2.0: Traceability for Certified Ibérico Ham and Shoulder
Ibérico 2.0 is a free Android app developed by Quosei S.L. that allows users to trace the origin of certified Ibérico ham and shoulder products. Each piece is individually identified with a unique and tamper-proof seal.
This app provides traceability information throughout the entire chain, from the pig's production (birth and rearing) to the final product that reaches the consumer. It adheres to the NORMA DE CALIDAD DEL IBÉRICO (RDwhich requires all Ibérico ham and shoulder pieces to carry one of the four identifying seals:
- BLACK for 100% Ibérico Acorn-fed Ham and Shoulder
- RED for Ibérico Acorn-fed Ham and Shoulder (75% and 50%)
- GREEN for Ibérico Field Bait Ham and Shoulder (100%, 75%, and 50%)
- WHITE for Ibérico Bait Ham and Shoulder (100%, 75%, and 50%)
This seal system is a joint effort by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food and the Ibérico sector to provide consumers with maximum guarantees of safety, quality, and authenticity.
